The only sure fire way to study for the Theory Test is to read read read - there is no shortcut!

I have included a list of books at the end of this page, but as a bare minimum you should buy a Highway Code.  Many people make the mistake of buying the DSA book which has the question bank complete with answers and just trying to memorise it all.  In my experience this is very hard work and totally counter-productive. Even after passing the Theory Test you will not understand the rules of the road, or even what the signs mean!!! 

After studying every book you can get, you then need to practice.

  There are many CDROMs and DVDs available to buy which allow you to test yourself.  eDriving Solutions is an excellent website which has a multitude of material available for a fee of £7.99 per month.  You can see the site here or, if you are a Bumpers Driving School client you will be given FREE membership.

There are a total of 50 multi-choice questions, with a pass mark of 44.

When you are confident of passing the test you will need to study for the Hazard Perception Test.
